Dance In The Dark

[head wrap-Vinyl, jacket-H&M, black bodycon dress-vintage, black tutu skirt-F21, ankle boots-Balenciaga, earrings-vintage, gold starburst ring-House of Harlow 1960]

Here it is bloggies, your FIRST look @ my line Vinyl. This head wrap is the first piece of my collection to debut, but I can assure you that you will be seeing lots more where this came from within the next two weeks as I continue to work my little fingers to the bone, and work with my "babies" (everyone involved in the 2010 show) to make sure that the premiere of Vinyl will be a successful one.
If you're interested in contributing in anyway I urge you to visit the facebook group here, where you'll recieve updates on Fashion Vida, Vinyl, and the upcoming events and promos for Vinyl that YOU can get involved in. The greatest part about the show for Vinyl is that I've had so many incredible, talented local artists who are just as focused and determined with their art, as I am with mine. They've inspired me, and as i've said to all my babies so many times this show will not only be a showcase for me and my line...but for every single one of them because they're the ones making it all possible and i love every single one of them so much for their ongoing support for Fashion Vida and Vinyl!

This House of Harlow Ring is running my existence.

Cass

that he's here, means he's never lost

Photographer: Beata Grudinska
(black button up-Express, black drop crotch-Bebe, suede ankle boots-Zara Spain, sunglasses-Chanel 5018)

Here's a few of the shots from a shoot i did for my friend Beata who's is incredibly talented and creative. She had asked me to model for a cosmetic advertisement for one of her classes, which you can see above. It didn't take long to get the shot that she needed, so we decided to do some fashion shots for the blog. I had such a great time, Beata has this certain something about her that puts you at ease, I didn't feel like a model I felt like myself in the purest of ways. She's a great photographer and person, and Its so great when you re-connect with old friends. We have a couple of new projects in store...

Spent the weekend at this beautiful outdoor Scandanavian spa with the girlfriends, it was perfection. So soothing, and relaxing during the day & then a girls night of drinks, games, movies, and tonsssss of laughs. I came home today in the greatest moods, I reccomend taking time of occasionally like that. There's nothing better than just escaping your day-to-day even if its just for a night and spending that time with the important people in your life. ahhhh! thank you so much ladies!

Now its back to work.

off with your head!

(blazer & wedges-F21, jeans-H&M)

This hat really was love at first sight. I found it, while exiting the store and without even trying it on decided I would make it work. Mind you, I bought this furry friend when I was still blonde - I couldn't wait to try it on, then realized the tan fur was pretty much the exact same colour as my hair. It actually looked like i had managed to transform my hair into this mullet that just looked desperate. I then spontaneously decided to die my hair a dark brown auburn. This hat is now basically on my head all the time. I love it so much, its hurts a little bit.

Im exhausted, can you tell?

I want your ugly.

(lace longsleeved shirt-vintage/DIY, faux fur vest and black tutu skirt-F21, tights-??, boots-Zara Spain, leopard print scarf-H&M)

I've got sooo much going on, and I've been hard @ work designing for both "I'll Do Me", and Vinyl. I'm so excited for the grand reveal of Vinyl, and to hear what everyone thinks about it. I've got so much to look forward to, but also a LOT of work to come before that. I just keep my fingers crossed hoping that all my hard work will pay off. The entire collection isn't even completed yet and I'm already picking out models for the show, looking at venues, and i've hired the fabulously talented Monica Bancheri to do all the makeup for the show. I'm so excited I could burst(but i wont).

Attending my first I'll Do Me rehersal tommorow where I'll be going through designs with the writer and director, discussing thoughts and ideas. And finally devising a grand plan for the entire styling of the show! I'll post some designs for this soon, cause Im sooo stoked.

Also... its become BRUTALLY COLD up here in Canadaland. I'm dying and its only October!
Hope all my fellow Canadians enjoyed their Thanksgiving long weekend, i ate myself into a coma.

love you babiesss!

Givenchy vs. Bowie

Givenchy always brings it, and RTW2010 was absolutely no exception.

Reminiscing some Bowie days perhaps?
I'd like to think so. But my opinion is naturally bias.
adores this man!

I also found some old Hilfiger ads of him & Iman. Didn't realize how long she'd been riding the Bowie Train. Pure 90s purple turtleneck status! - It's been THAT long.

Damn Girl,

So.. up until recently I had yet to choose a candidate for MuchMusic VJ 2.0, that is offcourse until Saturday when I found out that one of my favourite people ever Kalyna Sanajko was running.

You may recognize Kalyna from the recent Maybelline post I did as she was one of my models. She's absolutely hilarious & is one of the most ballsy girls I know. You can't dare Kalyna to do anything, because she WILL do it all while looking fabulous!

I wouldn't be promoting Kalyna if I didn't truly think that she'd make a great VJ, and she will because shes determined, outspoken, and has a great sense of who she is.

Don't believe me? watch her vid, you'll fall in love instantly!

So bloggers, head on over to

http://vj.muchmusic.com/gallery/1914

and give 5 stars in both the Cool and Hot sections!

& Good Luck Kalyna! love you! xoxo

now excuse me while i go watch some Top Model..

Ziggy Stardust.

(on me: sheer bodysuit, red zipup pants-American Apparel, electric blue heels-Zara Spain, cuffs-St.Jacobs Meninite Market - on emma: zebraprint bodysuit-old navy, leopard print hat-vintage, shorts-DIY, raglan-American Apparel, tights-?? )

So this past Saturday was a celebration of Emma's birthday. The theme was "60s, 70s, 80s, Glam-Rock, Hippies & Gypsies". I channeled David Bowie circa 1972 for my outfit, and the bff Emma channeled Edie Sedgwick. It took me a while to figure out exactly how to incorporate a lightening bolt into my makeup routine - but I'm quite pleased with the results I used Rimmel London's electric blue eyeshadow, Annabelle electric blue eyeliner, & loadsss of eyeliner, and mascara.

Oh yeah? and incase you haven't already figured it out, I am back to a Brunette. Although the whole thought process that went into dying my hair blonde was based on being completely bored with my brown w/blonde highlights do' that had been kept up for atleast 2 years. I decided to do something different, a not so classic brunette with a tint of Auburn. Emma came with me to keep me sane throughout the entire skull-burning process. The outcome, exactly what I wanted. I don't know why I get so paranoid when I get my hair done when i have a hair dresser who literally works magic. Michael thank you so much, I absolutely LOVE IT! xo

I have soo much work to do this week, its insane. I miss my boyfriend, whenever he goes back to school after spending the weekend with me - I don't know what to do with myself. It's hard to get things back into motion.

Let me know what you guys think about the hair!! Brunette or Blonde?

I died.

Tim Burton's Halloween Fashion Editorial for Harper's Bazaar October Issue

Probably the most over-used phrase of mine; "i died". But literally, i did after seeing this. Tim Burton transformed his on-screen genius to a shoot that is to DIE for. Photographed by Tim Walker and with a special guest model appearance by Mr. Burton himself, this definately is one of Harper's most magical shoots.

The styling itself is perfection for an October issue, the combination of YSL, Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Jean Paul Gaultier Atelier, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel, Givenchy by Ricardo Tiscy, Phillip Traecy for Alexander Mcqueen, Balmain & Armani (to name a few).

I love the red hair, the red jack-o-lanterns, the red roses.
Red's definitely the new Orange this Halloween.
